Hi all,

As you all know already, we have had an ongoing battle with USQ regarding the lighting on the tennis courts. Those that attended last night would be aware that it has gotten to the point that the courts we utilise are now too unsafe to be played on. Of the 18 lights they have on our courts, 8 are working.

This morning USQ have advised that they can not give an ETA on when the lights will be fixed and will only allow us to utilise inside if we are able to pay the fully running cost of operating those court. This would increase your fees to $20/session with running costs associated and that just isn’t fair.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we have to suspend sessions for the time being. The safety of our players is our top priority, we are just not willing to compromise your health and safety for a game of pickleball.

Please know we are working really hard to find alternative spaces to accommodate our growth, we have submitted a council request for locations that we can move to that have sufficient lighting, we are in conversations with Trevor Watts regarding court space, we’ve made multiple of enquiries to schools, and we have also had communication with the Showgrounds to source something.

If you have any contacts that might have an options, please let either of us know.

We aren’t going anywhere, we are still as invested as ever to keep this sport alive in the region, and we will keep pushing and searching to find us a new home.

We will keep you posted with updates as we get them!
We are incredibly sorry but please know this also absolutely breaks our heart.

We will be back better than ever, with a new home ASAP!

Much love ❤️
Matt & Maddy
